He's made the audio files free for download:

I have the earlier French version, and the audios are now almost completely different, so the new book is not just a revision, but appears to be substantially different.
In 2009 Rico was the first person to post a video on Youtube
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDE-7z66OHg
where someone looked into the camera and spoke Ancient Greek off the top of his head. There are now hundreds of such videos.

Re: Christophe Rico's new English version of Πόλις is out
Thanks for posting this Markos! I started teaching my daughter Latin when she was 6.5 using Lingua Latina and she loves it. That was a little over a year ago and we're just finishing the first book of LL. After that I plan to read through the 4 gospels with her in Latin and then next March I wanted to try Greek. But I've been scratching my head trying to figure out how to get her started with it. She really enjoys LL because it's basically just reading-stories-with-dad but in a different language. This looks like a great way to introduce her to Greek. If it's thorough enough, afterward she may be able to jump into the gospels and compare the Greek with the Latin to work out difficulties. I plan on going through the syntax formally when she's a little older, but for now I just want her to read as much as possible and get an "intuitive" feeling for it.

Do you mean using the same script but rerecording them or with a completely different script?Markos wrote: I have the earlier French version, and the audios are now almost completely different, so the new book is not just a revision, but appears to be substantially different.
.
(My version is the Italian one, I think)

To answer my own question, having now listened to the free audio, it is clearly a completely different script to my Italian version and presumably the French one as well.daivid wrote:Do you mean using the same script but rerecording them or with a completely different script?Markos wrote: I have the earlier French version, and the audios are now almost completely different, so the new book is not just a revision, but appears to be substantially different.

I owe you a big thank you for letting me know about this, Markos.

Calvinist, I sent you a PM last week or so. Since I didn't get any answer, I thought you weren't interested about learning classical languages as living languages, but then I saw your post. I live in San Diego too.calvinist wrote:Thanks for posting this Markos! I started teaching my daughter Latin when she was 6.5 using Lingua Latina and she loves it. Re: Christophe Rico's new English version of Πόλις is out
My copy arrived a few days ago. It is a very substantial rewrite and as it has been completely reorganized it is a little tricky to see how much has been rewritten. For instance grammatical tables and examples for the vocabulary not appear in the relevant chapters rather than in a section near the back. My impression is substantial amounts of the old edition has been dropped though there is also quite a lot that has been kept. As it is quite a bit thicker there is a great deal of new material so it was definitely worth my while getting it even though I already have the Italian edition. I would definitely say it is worth getting even if you are an Italian/French native speaker as the amount of English is pretty minimal (as you might expect from Rico)

Markos,
There may be hundreds of videos now but seldom are any as pleasant to my ears than Rico's.
