Aelian Varia Historia 9.31

Post by Archimedes »

I'm comparing recent translations of Aelian's Varia Historia 9.31, and I am unable to lay hands on the translation done by James G. DeVoto, Claudius Aelianus: Varia Historia published by Ares in 1995. If anyone has access to it, would you mind posting it? It is only a couple of lines.

The Greek text can be accessed at https://tesserae.caset.buffalo.edu/text ... toria.tess and also on the Perseus Tufts site.

The 1997 Loeb Classical Library version Aelian: Historical Miscellany reads "An athlete from Croton, on winning at Olympia, went up to the presiding officials to receive his crown, and fell down dead from an attack of epilepsy."

Thanks.
