Good Modern Greek Pronounciation Resources for Ancient Greek

Post by Ursinus »

I have spend most of my time studying Latin, but I want to return eventually to teaching myself Greek again. I am thinking about using modern Greek pronunciation for several reasons.

Anyway, do you know of any good audio resources that use modern Greek pronunciation? I am hoping to find a wide range of audio (e.g., classical Greek, Bible (got that covered already), Athenaze, and perhaps an audiobook of some beginner type book). Do any of you know of such resources?

Thanks!

Also, feel free to post audio resources for Buth's living koine pronunciation. If the prospects for it are better, I might just use his pronunciation.

Gratias tibi ago, mi amice Marce! Scio etiam te linguam graecam bene scribere. Spero in future te ipsum quoque cum Beduero et me jungurus et latine scripturus esse.

I keep thinking I am going to work again on my Greek, but then I get busy either with school, Latin, or both. I really want to make sure I get Latin down. I'm always afraid if I start doing both, it will stunt my growth in both.

When I relearn Greek, I want to do it the right way. One and a half years of grammar-translation was so frustrating. Anyways, I am sure I will be turning to you for Greek advice when I do start getting serious! And when I do get serious, I will also join you and Bedwere on the Greek weather forum!

In Christi Pace,

Ursinus

I've also found this good reading of the Gospel of John:

There is also this site:

Although I'm not able to download the mp3 files.
