Don't let the bastards get you down

This board is a composition workshop, like a writers' workshop: post your work with questions about style or vocabulary, comment on other people's work, post composition challenges on some topic or form, or just dazzle us with your inventive use of galliambics.

Don't let the bastards get you down

Post by Xyloplax »

I am trying to write the subject phrase in Greek. I've come up with μὴ ἔα τῷ νόθῳ κατετριφθῆναι, which I am hoping literally means "do not allow to be worn down by the bastards"). I am awful at composition, so I'm assuming there's a problem. Or is it good to go?

Already found a mistake: it's κατατριφθῆναι, no augment in the infinitive :P

How about ὑπό and the genitive instead of the dative?

I was thinking that too, but the instrumental dative seemed more concise.
