hair or mane flying

Post by Jim Bryan »

I want to describe Queen Boadicea driving her essedum with her long red hair flying behind her.
Boadicea essedum gerit longa coma rubra volans.
It would be the same phrase to describe a horse's mane or tail flying.
Any suggestions would be welcome :-)

Livy describes long red hair as:
"promissae et rutilatae comae"
so perhaps:
promissis rutilatisque comis volantibus, Boadicea essedum agitat.
