Introduction

Post by Zhv »

Hello. I am interested in learning Homeric Greek. I've read the Iliad and the Odyssey, and I've especially liked the Iliad.

I would like to learn Homeric Greek so I can read the epic poems in their original language, asides from the translations.

I have also read that Homeric Greek is overall the best way to start on Greek, according to Clyde Pharr. I have a minor interest in Koine Greek and the New Testament.

Opinions about Pharr and the wisdom of starting with Homeric Greek are not uniform.
