Conventiculum Europense

Post by Hortensius »

Does any one know about Latin and/or Greek Bidua or Tridua in Europe as e.g. Conventiculum Lexingtoniense in America?
I am not thinking about a course, but a conventiculum to speak and meet other latin speakers….

Give me anything you’ve heard or already know…..

Now that's an impeccable link! :-) So many thanks! Wish there would be more in Northern Europe....

As for the adjective, I read L&S one can use europaeus and europensis similarly...

The "Centro Nazionale di Studi Classici Grecolatinovivo" hosted two bidua this year, the most recent one last weekend. They have schools throughout north Italy but hold their conventiculum style events in Florence.

A triduum is in the works for late March 2020 (also promising spoken Greek).

Hortensius, you may also want to try to create a group in your own city to get together informally once a month or so. You should contact all the Latin teachers and try to convince them. Then they can bring their students. Use google to find the contact information and social media as well.
